Disinfectant is a Macintosh application that will remove viruses from your disks and protect your Mac from infections. Viruses are pieces of code that attach themselves to programs and files and replicate themselves each time the program is used. While most Macintosh viruses do not intentionally cause damage, their presence uses up memory and can cause other problems such as system crashes.

How you can get Disinfectant

Walk to any CIRCA lab and copy (drag) the Disinfectant file to your diskette. Disinfectant is found on the Lab Software volume in the Macintosh folder. Folks on UFNET can copy it from the PANDA server in the CIRCA II zone. Disinfectant is updated whenever new viruses are discovered. The disinfectant icon looks like this:
