E-mail Setup Instructions for Windows Mail

This article will teach you how to setup your Windows Mail client to receive your Gatorlink e-mail. This product is only available for Microsoft Vista Users
  1. Open Windows Mail


  2. Click on the Tools button on the menu bar. Select Accounts




  3. Click Add then Next



  4. Select E-Mail Account then click Next





  5. Fill in your name and then click Next




  6. Enter your gatorlink email address the click Next


    • Under incoming e-mail server type: IMAP or POP
    • In the incoming e-mail server section type either: imap.ufl.edu or pop.ufl.edu (depending on previous selection)
    • In the outgoing mail server section enter: smtp.ufl.edu
    • Check the box next to Outgoing server requires authentication
    • Click Next

       

       

    • Enter your gatorlink username and password then click Next



    • Click Finish




    • Now click Properties



    • Select the Advanced tab
    • Change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 587
    • Click OK



    • If all steps were completed correctly your mail should work without any problem
