III. Is There Anything I Should Know Before Installing
It?
You should be aware of the following recommendations prior to
installing Netscape Communicator:
- The first time you start Netscape 7, the program will offer to
set up a Netscape Email Account, AOL Instant Messenger service
and a Net2Phone service. The use of these services are up to
you. The University Florida does not promote these services. All technical
support questions in regard to Netscape on-line services should be
directed to Netscape.
- Netscape 7 will overwrite Netscape 6.x versions of
the browser, but will reside on your hard drive in addition to any
other previously-installed versions of Netscape. You may wish
to keep older versions of Netscape installed until you decide
which version you prefer, at which point you can uninstall one to
recover disk space.
- If you uninstall an earlier version of Netscape, restart
your system before installing Netscape 7. Files might exist
that cannot be deleted until your system is restarted.
- Read the Software License Agreement. It explains your rights to
use the product and informs you of the products copyrights.
