I. What is Brown tn3270?

This telnet program allows your computer to access other computers on the university network and the Internet. Through Brown tn3270, your display and keyboard are able to run and view the programs on these remote computers (hosts). This program is capable of tn3270 emulation that allows you to connect to IBM mainframes like NERVM and NERMVS.

II. How do I install Brown tn3270?

    1. Open the TN3270 folder.
    2. Double-click on the Brown tn3270 package 2.4a7.sea file.
    3. During installation (in the Select Destination Folder box), be sure to change the destination folder to a folder on the hard drive.
    4. Restart the computer after completing the installation.

III. How Do I Use Brown tn3270?

    1. Open the Brown tn3270 package folder.
    2. Open the tn3270 Folder.
    3. Double-click on the tn3270 icon to start the program.
    4. From the pull-down File menu, select Open Connection.
    5. Enter the full name of a Host computer in the Host Name field.
    6. Click on the Open Connection button.

    To test if it is working, try the host name: nermvs.nerdc.ufl.edu (this is NERDC's main services window, you can access LUIS from this window).
