I. Introduction

Both Netscape and Microsoft provide exceptional web browsing programs. These web browsers also come with other components like email clients, newsreaders, and multimedia viewers.  Both developers also provide add-on programs when you visit their web site.  We have placed several versions of the Netscape and Microsoft web browser on this CD to provide you with a broad selection.  A brief description of each version follows:

Internet Explorer 5.0 provides Internet Explorer (a web browser), OutLook Express (an IMAP & POP3 Email & Newsgroup management program), Java and Web fonts, a personal web server and Netshow.

Netscape 7.x provides Navigator (web browser), an (IMAP & POP3) email & newsgroup management program, a HTML editor, an information subscription tool, a conferencing program, AOL Instant Messenger service, plug-in and JAVA support.  Stuffit Expander is also included.

System Requirements:

  1. All programs require the Mac Operating System 8.1 (or higher).
  2. If you are limited by the space on your hard drive, you  should take into consideration the installation size of  the programs.
  3. Netscape Communicator 4.7   requires approximately 18MB of space after installation. During installation approximately: 28MB.
  4. Internet Explorer 5.0 requires up to approximately 26MB depending on installation choices.
