I. Introduction

This CD has three programs that can manage your email messages: One of Netscape's browser suites, one of Microsft's Internet Explorer's browser suites and Qualcomm's Eudora Light.

All of these programs work well and offer similar functions. However, each program will have windows and menus that organize information in different ways.  Some will provide unique features that the others do not.  Choosing an email client is a personal choice.

If you are using Netscape 7.x try using it's Mail and Newsgroup program.  It provides IMAP or POP3 protocols for managing email messages.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 try using its it's email program, Outlook Express. It provides IMAP or POP3 protocols for managing email messages.

If you are using any other web browser or simple do not like the other email programs, we encourage you to use Qualcomm's Eudora email software.

It should be pointed out that many computer systems on campus offer their own email management programs.  Many of these programs can be used through a telnet host. Read the file: How to Install NCSA Telnet to learn how to use this program. Grove and NERDC nersp systems provide PINE to read email messages.
